![]() ![]() Also, the Dwarves began to die off in the Fourth Age, since women only made up a third of their population, and Dwarven females often chose not to marry. The departure of the Elves ushered in the dawn of the Fourth Age, which is characterized by the Dominion of Men. Gandalf's prediction was proven correct when the remaining Elves left Middle-earth for the Undying Lands when the Three Rings lost their power as a result of Sauron's defeat. What was next for the Elves and the fate of Middle-earth after Return of the King was teased by Gandalf at the end of The Return of the King when Gandalf said, " For the time comes of the Dominion of Men, and the Elder Kindred should fade or depart." In the beginning of the Third Age, the Elves started to leave for their Rings of Power stronghold, Valinor, though many of them remained in various regions of Middle-earth. This began to change in the Third Age when the power of the Elves began to wane. The Elves were the most prevalent race in the First and Second Ages of Middle-earth. The Fourth Age & The Dominion of Men Began There are, however, a few confirmed details. ![]() This period of Middle-earth's timeline, unlike its pre- Lord of the Rings history, isn't covered in great detail. Shortly after the conclusion of The Return of the King, the Fourth Age kicked off. The Third Age, which lasted for a period of 3021 years, is the setting for both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies. Tolkien wrote a surprisingly large amount about The Second Age in his appendices and books like The Silmarillion. The Second Age is the focus of Amazon's Lord of the Rings TV series, The Rings of Power. The timeline of Middle-earth is broken up into several long eras, and the Third Age is just one of them. Most of these events took place in an era known as the Third Age. Aragorn lived a long, full life with Arwen for many years after The Lord of the Rings, and passed away at the age of 210. He married the Elf, Arwen (Liv Tyler), who willingly gave up her Elven immortality in order to share a life with Aragorn. Meanwhile, also seen in the movie adaptation, Aragorn took his rightful place as the King of Gondor. As seen at the end of Return of the King, Frodo left Middle-earth for the Undying Lands. What most viewers know is that Frodo wasn't content with his life in the Shire, due in part to injuries he sustained in The Lord of the Rings. It’s been previously confirmed that Skate will be a free-to-play title, though developer Full Circle has stressed that it will not feature paid loot boxes or pay-to-win mechanics.ĮA also mentions that it has two additional titles due out before April 2024 that haven’t yet been announced, namely a racing game (which is likely to be Codemasters’ WRC title) and an unnamed EA Sports title. Some of this is depicted in The Return of the King movie from Peter Jackson's trilogy, and more is covered in the extended editions. Meanwhile, EA has also confirmed that Skatewill not be releasing before April 2024 either, with the reboot of the skating franchise also omitted from its list of FY24 titles. More recently, the developer offered some brief insight on the RPG’s customization and progression systems, while leaks have also claimed that the game will feature action-based hack-and-slash combat similar to God of War. In October last year, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf hit a major development milestone, with BioWare confirming that the project had hit alpha and was playable in its entirety from start to finish. Unfortunately for Dragon Age fans, Dreadwolf is nowhere to be found, indicating that it will release after April 2024. In its recent quarterly earnings report, the company shared a list of all of its titles that have either already released in FY24 (which runs until March 31, 2024) or are due out in that period, with the likes of EA Sports FC, EA Sports PGA Tour, Super Mega Baseball 4, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth, F1 23, and Immortals of Aveum. And unfortunately, the wait for the RPG is going to drag on for a while yet, it seems.ĭragon Age: Dreadwolf is not going to be out until after April 2024, according to publisher EA. We didn’t even know the game’s name until June 2022. That a new mainline instalment in the series was in development was officially confirmed by BioWare nearly five years ago, and in the time since then, we have seen or heard little about it beyond vague teases and concept art. The wait for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has been long and torturous. ![]()
